Royal Tea House in Great Neck Plaza posted a sign last week that it was temporarily closing “to readjust our restaurant to better meet your needs.”

But rather than join a number of other closures over the summer, like Ippon, Element Seafood and Ren Wen Noodle Factory, staff members at the Royal Tea House said they plan to continue operating and the restaurant is open again.

“There were some changes to be made,” Kean Pan, a worker at Royal Tea House, said over the phone on Wednesday. “We’re going to expand our menu and add more dishes to the menu.”

Among those new dishes could be sushi rolls, he added.

Royal Tea House at 1 Great Neck Road opened in February 2017. The restaurant features floral wallpaper, a rose on each table and Tiffany blue tables with velvet furniture, while offering an array of tea from around the world and other small items, Cynthia Yeah, a spokesman for Royal Tea House, previously said.

At the time of its opening, Yeah described it as “a restaurant that represents quality, comfort, affordability and excellent hospitality.”

Royal Tea House is the sister restaurant of Rose House in Flushing, Queens, another English-style tea house.
