Carey celebrates September Seniors of the Month

Frank Carey High School has named Gabriella Fiumaro and Frank Porcasi September’s Seniors of the Month.

Gabriella is involved in organizing and overseeing many Carey activities. She is president of the student government, co-president of Spanish Leadership, co-president of Model United Nations, layout editor of the yearbook, tutor coordinator for the National Honor Society Board and representative for the Class of 2018. She is also an involved member of the 21st Century Scholars, SIDMUN board, Leadership Physical Education Program, and the Cultural Proficiency Committee.

Her intellectual achievements have earned her membership in the National, World Language and Business honor societies. She has spent countless hours as a volunteer at the LIJ Medical Center, the Ronald McDonald House, the Kids Need More Foundation and the ACE Model United Nations program for elementary students.

Frank is a talented three-sport athlete, captain of both varsity football and basketball and was listed in Newsday as a “Football Player to Watch” and one of the “Top 100 Long Island Players.”

Academically, he is an AP Scholar with Distinction and has been inducted into numerous national and departmental honor societies. Additionally, he volunteers at a nursing home and recently helped raise more than $2,500 for hurricane relief.
