Specialists at two local children’s hospitals provide some of the best care in the country, U.S. News & World Report has said.

Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park is among the nation’s top 50 hospitals when it comes to seven different specialties on the publication’s 2016-2017 Best Children’s Hospitals list. The Children’s Medical Center at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola ranked in three of the list’s 10 categories.

Making the list for the 10th straight year, Northwell Health’s Cohen Children’s ranked 13th for pediatric urology, 29th for neonatology, 37th for gastroenterology, 39th for neurology, 40th for orthopedics and pulmonology, and 42nd for cancer.

“Knowing that their child is going to get great care should give families great comfort that they’ve come to the right place,” Dr. Charles Schleien, executive director of Cohen Children’s Medical Center, said in a statement. “We have the best of all pediatric services under one roof, as demonstrated by the latest U.S. News survey.”

Winthrop’s Children’s Medical Center ranked 29th for diabetes and endocrinology, 48th for pediatric urology and 50th for pulmonology.

The hospital has made the list every year since 2011, a spokeswoman said.

“This prestigious designation is just one example of Winthrop’s commitment to providing the very best care to pediatric patients across all clinical specialties,”  Dr. Warren Rosenfeld, Winthrop’s pediatrics chairman, said in a statement.

U.S. News & World Report surveyed 183 hospitals and thousands of pediatric specialists and subspecialists to create its annual rankings, its website says.
