Nature Program: Birds, Beach & Botany for Beginners                                         

Saturday, Dec. 14, 11 a.m., join us at Garvies Point Preserve in Glen Cove tour Nassau County’s small Garvies Point Preserve in Glen Cove, which is rich in habitats including seashore, pond, field, and forest. Winter Camp Parkwood and Holiday Tennis Camp

Children ages 4-10, can enjoy Winter Camp Parkwood during the week of Dec. 23 (excludes Christmas), from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink. Daily resident fee: $120; Daily non-resident fee: $150. Register online at gnparks.org or call (516) 487-GNPD. For all those tennis lovers out there, we offer a tennis program from Dec. 23 through Dec. 31 (excludes Christmas), 12-4 p.m. for children ages 6-17. Lights and Ice at the Village Green

Join us through Sunday, Jan. 12 for our “Lights and Ice” at the Village Green (corner of Beach and Middle Neck Road), featuring an outdoor ice skating rink, holiday lights, food for purchase, fire pits, and igloos. Defensive Driving Classes at Great Neck House

Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving classes are offered at Great Neck House on the first Saturday of every month. There is a class on Saturday, Jan. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. To register or for more information, call the Great Neck House at 482-0355.
