Pending the approval of the New York State budget, New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District will provide a half-day universal pre-Kindergarten at Manor Oaks School for the 2018-2019 school year in cooperation with SCOPE Education Services.

As the program is entirely funded through a grant from New York Sate, there are no additional costs to local taxpayers.

The program is located at Manor Oaks School, and is staffed by a New York State certified teacher and assistant.

It runs Monday through Friday, and follows the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park 2018-2019 school calendar.

There are two morning sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and two afternoon sessions from noon to 2:30 p.m.

Time preferences will be considered, but are not guaranteed, and are based upon lottery results.

Parents must provide transportation.

Applicants must be a resident of New Hyde Park-Garden City Park, not eligible for Kindergarten until September 2019 and four-years-old – born on or before Dec. 1, 2014.

There are 72 openings. Students will be selected at a public lottery to be held on Wed. March 28 at 9:00 a.m. in the board room at Manor Oaks School.

Successful applicants will then be contacted to complete the registration process.

Applications and additional information can be found at www.nhp-gcp.org or by contacting the Office of Curriculum and Technology at (516) 434-2323.

Applications are due back no later than Wed. March 14.
