Despite holiday time being an extremely busy time, local teenagers, part of the Chabad of Lake Success “J.L.E. Teen Club,” took time to bake cookies, decorate them and then package them for the local police and fire departments.
The teens were greeted with big smiles and lots of appreciative police officers and firefighters.
Our way of life, with the freedoms we enjoy, comes from the sacrifices and hard work of those who serve our community, such as fire and police departments, Chabad representatives said. In recognizing how much they’ve given to us, they added, it’s a perfect time of year to give back to them for what they have done and continue to do.
JLE Teen Club is run by Rabbi Dovid & Chumy Ezagui of Chabad of Lake Success. For more info on their upcoming events, or for opportunities to help out in the community, they can be reached at ChabadLakeSuccess@gmail.com / www.myJLE.com
