DeRiggi-Whitton sponsors mammography van

Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D-Glen Cove) sponsored free mammography exams on Wednesday, Sept. 15 through the Nassau University Medical Center’s (NUMC) Mobile Breast Imaging Center van at the Port Washington Adult Activities Center.

During its visit, the Mobile Breast Imaging van provided free exams to people with or without insurance. “Through early detection, breast cancer is usually treatable soI urge everyone to get annual mammograms,” Legislator Deriggi-Whitton said. “Since they are available to people with or without health insurance, there is no excuse not to get these potentially life-saving screening each year.”
