State Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso attended the ribbon cutting for the Shake-N-Go’s new solar system at their offices in Port Washington. The 900 kW solar system, designed and implemented by New York-based EnterSolar, is a major investment in the community by Shake-N-Go and will generate nearly 100 percent of the facilities annual power consumption. This will provide numerous environmental benefits to its Long Island neighbors and reduce Shake-N-Go’s dependence on the power grid.
“Shake-N-Go’s commitment to sustainable practices is highly commendable, and I am confident that the installation of their solar array will not be the end of their ecologically friendly innovations,” said Assemblyman D’Urso, “I appreciate the positive economic impact which Shake-N-Go has had on the community and their commitment to more green practices.”
Shake-N-Go has operated in Port Washington since 2004, where they manufacture a wide array of synthetic hair products. They are currently the world’s largest manufacturer of hair extensions, wigs, hairpieces, and accessories. Shake-N-Go has received recognition for their attractive facilities on numerous occasions, as well as their contributions to the Port Washington community.
