This spring Roslyn’s fourth and fifth graders participated in the Stock Market Game during their Enrichment Workshop.

Students gave up their recess to learn about the ups and downs of the stock market. The game is played by many schools across Long Island.

Each team has one goal, to make the most money from their investments.

The students who selected to participate in this Enrichment Workshop were led by their Enrichment teacher, Suzanne Falcone.

Their motto was simple but effective; “buy low, sell high.” The students learned the struggle of the market this year as it took a large hit during the game.

This led the student investors to short sell in addition to their traditional trading habits. After ten weeks of studying their portfolio and tracking stocks closely, East Hills was recognized with a top investing team.

East Hills fifth graders Michael Amato and Caroline Goldberg placed fourth with an impressive gain of over $6,000. Congratulations to all who participated.
