According to Eric Kobrick, chair of the East Hills Tennis Committee, “The Village of East Hills’ outstanding summer tennis program is back!”

The program involves different teams, lessons and events and is run by Steve Alhadeff. The summer program currently includes six teams competing in two different leagues: the Northshore Women’s League and the Long Island Interclub Women’s League.

Kobrick said “we are having another outstanding summer of tennis at East Hills and we look forward to adding even more events in the future.”

Team practices are on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. East Hills’ C Team in the Women’s Interclub Division is currently in first place and is likely to move up to the B division. Other programs include a working women’s drill on Tuesday’s from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and children’s programs. Specifically, red ball and orange ball drills on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons teach young children the basics of playing tennis.

Kobrick added, “Other exciting tennis events and tournaments are organized throughout the summer as well. If any residents are looking to strengthen their skills, private lessons and group lessons are offered all summer long.”

More information regarding lessons, leagues, and scheduled events are available on the East Hills’ website at https://villageofeasthills.org/park/tennis-program/.
