The Floral Park Historical Society program “Why Birds are Important” will be presented by Educator, Conservationist and Bird Expert Stella Miller on Sunday, February 3 at 2 p.m. at the Floral Park Recreation & Pool Building, Stewart Street, Floral Park.

Mrs. Miller served for 10 years as the president of the Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society. “This program is in keeping with local history in that John Lewis Childs, the Founder of Floral Park, who was not only a horticulturalist, botanist, and successful businessmen, he was a bird lover and a world renowned ornithologist,” said Ann Corbett, President of the FPHS. “This program is great for adults and young people who love birds and want to learn more about Long Island birds.” The program is free to the public.
