Hemsptead Town Supervisor Laura Gillen and Councilman Bruce Blakeman presented Albert Trasolini of Floral Park the distinguished “Town of Hempstead Veterans Medal” at Town Park at Point Lookout during the Town of Hempstead’s Annual Salute to Veterans event.

The Town of Hempstead Veterans Service Award is given to veterans who, in addition to their military service, have dedicated their lives to helping their fellow service men and women.

Albert Trasolini of Floral Park served in the Army from 1965-1967 at the Army’s headquarters in Fort Richardson, Alaska.

Trasolini is a member of the Floral Park American Legion Post 334, where his responsibilities are endless. Every month, Trasolini visits and sick veterans at the VA hospital in St. Albans to play bingo with the vets. Trasolini is known by almost everyone in Floral Park as the person always there to lend a helping hand.
