Girl Scout Cookie pop-up drive-thru launches in Nassau County

The Island Now

Girl Scouts of Nassau County has announced a special Girl Scout Cookie® Pop-Up event! For one weekend only, beginning Saturday, March 20 through Sunday, March 21, Girl Scouts will host a drive-thru booth sale at the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s headquarters in Garden City.

The limited-time event will help support local Girl Scouts while providing customers with the chance to purchase popular favorites such as Thin Mints®, Samoas®, Trefoils®, S’Mores® or Lemon Ups® before the Girl Scout Cookie season ends on March 31.

“We’re so excited to announce this special weekend event—which will benefit local Girl Scouts as well as our customers. It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on Thin Mints before they’re gone until next year!” said Rande Bynum, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “I am so proud of our Girl Scouts for going above and beyond as cookie entrepreneurs this season. They have established new sales methods and are true go-getters when it comes to working to reach their sales goals. Our overall goal for this Girl Scout Cookie Pop-up is to sell at least 60,000 packages of cookies through the drive-thru, with GrubHub and online.”

In conjunction with this event, Girl Scouts across Nassau County will be hosting their own family booth sales and drive-thru sales as another option for customers to support.

Customers can visit the pop-up event located at 110 Ring Road in Garden City during the hours of 11 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20 and from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 21.

In addition to the drive-thru, for this weekend only, Girl Scouts of Nassau County will also partner with GrubHub to bring Girl Scout Cookies right to a customer’s doorstep.

Customers can order Girl Scout Cookies® for delivery on Grubhub.com or the Grubhub app. With hands-on experience in managing e-commerce, local Girl Scouts will track and fulfill orders, manage inventory, and more, all using Grub Hub’s back-end technology. As always, the proceeds benefit Girl Scout troop activities and Girl Scout council programs while adding convenience for cookie-lovers.

Another feature of the Girl Scout Cookie Pop-up event is the discounted delivery for online orders at www.girlscoutcookies.org or when using the official Girl Scout Cookie® Finder app, free on iOS and Android devices.

While ordering online Girl Scout Cookies®, customers can still opt to purchase cookies to donate to Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Gift of Caring programs, including Hometown Heroes, and Operation Cookie where they can donate Girl Scout Cookies to our first responders, doctors, nurses, retail employees, servicemen and women, and other key people who put themselves in harm’s way to keep the rest of us safe, and to help keep our communities going.
