Stepping Stones Lighthouse 5K Run

The third annual Stepping Stones Lighthouse 5K Run fundraiser is on Sunday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m., at Steppingstone Park. Help restore the historic lighthouse (built-in 1877) and save it from further decay. Contribute by donating or participating in the 5K Run event. The fee is $25 until 5 p.m. on October 4; $30 on race day (cash only on race day). Blue Hearts Duo: Sunday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m.

Join us at Great Neck House for a performance by George Tuzzeo, keyboardist from “Jay and the Americans” and Leiza Michaels. Admission to Great Neck House requires a park pass.

Weekend Film The Biggest Little Farm (2018) is playing at Great Neck House: Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5 at 5 & 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Documentarian John Chester and his wife Molly work to develop a sustainable farm on 200 acres outside of Los Angeles. Rated PG; runs 1 hour 31 minutes. Admission to Great Neck House requires a park pass.

Nature Program: Back to Back Saturday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Join us at Avalon Park and East Park Preserve in Stony Brook, for a relaxing, inspiring walk through these adjacent preserves. Although questions are most welcome, there will be no formal nature presentation so that you will be able to savor the enchantment of the countryside. Registration is limited to 15 people. Harvest Festival Join us for our Annual Harvest Festival in the Village Green on Monday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Enjoy arts & crafts, musical entertainment, hayrides, petting zoo, pony rides and more. Scarecrow Festival Register now for our Scarecrow Festival in the Village Green on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Defensive Driving Classes at Great Neck House Great Neck House continues to offer Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving classes on the first Saturday of every month.
