The Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District issued a $2,500 Facade Rehabilitation Grant and a $2,000 New Tenant Bonus Grant to The Cooking Lab which is located at 162 Main Street.

The purpose of the Facade Rehabilitation Grant Program is to provide assistance to property owners and businesses within the district that are interested in the rehabilitation of their exterior building facades. The purpose of the New Tenant Bonus Program is to allow our organization to help start a business within the Business Improvement District.

“The façade grant money awarded to The Cooking Lab was used to remove the old awning, paint and repair the entire façade of the building and pay for a portion of our sign. The new tenant bonus grant money will help pay for a complete build-out of a new handicap-accessible bathroom and misc. expenses. We believe in supporting our great community, and Port Washington is where we want to implement our business,” Michelle Capobianco, co-owner of The Cooking Lab, said.

“Our organization is very thankful to The Cooking Lab for choosing Port Washington as their home,” Mariann Dalimonte, executive director of the Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District.
