On Oct. 28, the Growing Love Community Garden held its first Harvest Fest to celebrate their first growing season.
Children painted mini pumpkins and gourds, created designs using natural materials found in the garden and enjoyed other crafts. Clergy with Our Lady of Fatima Church and the Archdiocese of Rockville Centre blessed the garden. Musical instruments carved from vegetables created a melodic backup to a singer/guitarist. There were also refreshments, vendors, raffles, freshly baked pies for sale and more to enjoy on a lovely Sunday afternoon.
