The NPD Group today announced that Hal Danziger has joined the company as head of Next Gen Platforms. In this role, Danziger will report to Chief Data Strategy Officer Darren Person, working on the design and development of a next-generation data processing and delivery platform to support new data sets and analytics that address market changes.

Danziger has held various technology and product leadership roles over his career from leading engineering organizations to helping develop digital platforms at several early-stage startups.  He was chief technology officer for DNAinfo, where he launched an innovative subscription product for local merchants and a social network for neighborhoods.  Before that, he was vice president of product for Condé Nast and chief technology officer for New York Magazine.  He previously held positions at CBS, Cablevision, and others, providing expertise in digital product and technology.

“Hal will be working closely with our technical teams and commercial practices to understand our existing platforms as we start our journey,” said Person.  “Most importantly, we will be keenly focused on our customers’ needs and their user experiences to create personalized and integrated data delivery and access strategies.”

“I am thrilled to be joining a company that not only has an impressive track record of innovation, but that also offers so many opportunities to continue to move forward with new technologies to ensure seamless access to actionable insights across functions for retailers and brands,” said Danziger.

Danziger holds a Master of Science in Technology Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stony Brook University.  He also serves as a mentor in Columbia University’s Technology Management program.
