Hanover Community Bank, a community-based financial institution that serves both businesses and consumers in Nassau County and Queens, announced it is joining with the American Legion to run a Holiday Coat Drive at the bank’s branches in Mineola, Garden City Park, and Forest Hills.

Lightly-used coats and sweaters will be accepted at each location during normal banking hours through the end of December. The American Legion will collect and distribute them through its existing services to members of the community.

Hanover Community Bank branches are located at 80 East Jericho Turnpike, Mineola that can be reached at (516) 548-8600, 2131 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park that can be reached at (516) 248-4868, and 71-17 Austin St., Forest Hills that can be reached at (646) 569-3600.

“As a proud member of the communities we serve, Hanover Community Bank is honored to partner with the American Legion to manage this holiday coat drive and help those individuals and families who are in desperate need of coats and sweaters before we enter the deep cold of winter,” Michael P. Puorro, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Hanover Community Bank, said. “We invite our customers and neighbors to join us in this vitally important endeavor. Any lightly-used coat or sweater will be gratefully accepted. Let’s work together to help those less fortunate stay warm and healthy throughout the winter months.”
