for All Ages
Online Friday, August 7 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Learn what local Great Neck community members have been creating in this Q&A presentation. This panel will feature Steve Hanania, an Audio-Animatronic Creator, and Jesus Modesto, an Animation Artist and teacher as they talk about what they do and how they do it. This is a great program for people interested in how things are made, how to get started in making, and to simply find out more about the diverse cool things the people of Great Neck are working on.

Independent Nominations for Great Neck Library Board of Trustees and Nominating Committee

The Great Neck Library annual election is scheduled to be held on October 26, 2020.
In accordance with the Bylaws of the Great Neck Library, independent nominations for specific vacancies on the Board of Trustees and Nominating Committee may be made on a form of petition provided by the Library, *signed by any one hundred (100) members of the Great Neck Library Association eligible to vote. Such nominating petition must be received by the Secretary of the Library Association, c/o the Great Neck Library, 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, NY 11023, on or before August 15, 2020.

*By Executive Order No. 202.26 the minimum signatures required to meet the threshold for a nominating petition has been eliminated.
Petitions can be found on the Library’s website at greatnecklibrary.org.

What are colleges looking for in your application essays?  How has Covid-19 affected the college application essay process?
Teens will participate in brainstorming exercises designed to help decide their choice of topics for the Common Application essay.  Also covered will be how to answer the  supplemental questions including the popular “WHY US?” used by so many colleges, and the new essay about the impact of Covid-19.
