Weekend Film:

Captain Marvel (2019), starring Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, is playing at Great Neck House, Friday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 at 5 & 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Rated PG-13; runs 2 hours 3 minutes. Admission to Great Neck House requires a park pass.

Sunday @ 3:

Conjunto Guantanamo Sunday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m., at Great Neck House for an afternoon of classic Afro-Cuban music, which combines lively percussion with authentic Cuban swing. Admission to Great Neck House requires a park pass.

Nature Program:

Awesome Alley Saturday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m., at Alley Pond Park (off of Douglaston Parkway- make sure NOT to go to APEC on Northern Blvd.), for a leisurely stroll through this city park. Register by Oct. 20 at www.gnparks.org or call (516) 482-0355. Children under age 16 not permitted to attend.

Halloween Happenings:

Join the GN Park District and the V of GN Plaza for the SPOOK-tacular Halloween Window Painting event. Sunday, Oct. 27 at 12 noon, friends and families can partner up to paint various storefront windows on Bond Street. Help bring a spooky, festive look to Great Neck. Halloween Skate Parade at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink is on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Free admission and skate rental for everyone wearing a costume. Only those in costume can get on the ice. This special Halloween event is not a public session. Costume prizes awarded for cutest, best overall, spookiest, funniest and most innovative costumes.
