The Herricks Public Schools has appointed Marty Abrams as director of facilities, to become effective on July 1. Abrams brings a wealth of experience to the district and facilities team with an extensive background working in public school districts.

Abrams has served as the Wantagh School District’s director of facilities for the last 15 years and has been part of the district’s facilities department for 29 years. Prior to that, he was part of the North Merrick School District’s facilities team. He has overseen numerous major capital projects and facilities upgrades, including a bond and an Energy Performance Contract.

As an executive board member and former president of the New York State School Facilities Association and leader in the organization’s Nassau County chapter, he was instrumental in establishing the Hofstra School Facilities Certificate Program.

“We are pleased to welcome such a highly-qualified professional to our team,” Superintendent of Fino Celano said. “Mr. Abrams has an impressive background and we know that his dedication will contribute to the successful completion of our bond projects and overall facilities department.”
