Herricks High School musicians Leonardo Gomez, Keneil Soni and Liam Tan were named to the National Association for Music Education’s All-National Honor Ensembles, the most from any school on Long Island.

Gomez, a talented Tenor 1 singer, was selected to perform with the prestigious All-National Mixed Choir. Soni, an accomplished French horn player, and Tan, an outstanding viola player, will join the All-National Symphony Orchestra.

In late January, the three musicians will participate in a virtual All-National Honors Ensemble program, which will include rehearsals with prominent conductors and workshops with renowned clinicians. Each ensemble will then create a final performance which will premier during Music in Our Schools Month.

The National Association for Music Education established its All-National Honor Ensembles as the ultimate recognition of student musical performance.

“Keneil, Liam and Leo are very active and exemplary members of the Herricks music program,” said Director of Fine and Performing Arts Anissa Arnold. “I am very proud of each student for their hard work and commitment to music which has enabled them to receive this great honor to represent Herricks at the All-National Festival. Bravo!”
