Jay B. Silverman, a partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, has been named to the Council of Overseers for the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, part of Long Island University.

Serving a three-year term, Silverman, a resident of Port Washington, will replace Arthur J. Kremer as Ruskin Moscou Faltischek’s liaison to the council.

“Our firm is proud of our long-standing involvement with the Tilles Center and support for the performing arts and arts education in the community,” Adam Silvers, managing partner, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, said. “A thriving regional arts center such as the Tilles Center tremendously enhances the quality of life we enjoy on Long Island.”

“I am honored to become a part of this prestigious council made up of the region’s top business leaders, philanthropists and arts patrons, and I share their commitment to the cultural enrichment of students at the LIU Post campus, as well as area elementary and secondary schools and our neighbors across the Island,” Silverman noted.

Established in 1981 on the LIU Post campus in Brookville with a mission to entertain, enrich and support the community, the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts welcomes more than 200,000 visitors annually and presents artists and ensembles from all genres including music, dance, comedy and theater.

The Center regularly hosts a number of performances and educational programs for students kindergarten to grade 12, and for the millions of people who live and work in Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties.

Silverman co-chairs the Health Law Department at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek where he represents licensed health care professionals and companies in transactional and regulatory matters involving the health care industry.

A graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, he currently is general counsel to the Nassau and Suffolk County Medical Societies and the Nassau and Suffolk Academies of Medicine. Silverman is also the co-vice president of Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington.
