In celebration of Unity Day on Oct. 20, John Lewis Childs School hosted an outdoor assembly with singer-songwriter Jared Campbell. Many students and staff dressed in orange in support of Unity Day and bullying prevention.

Campbell performed the songs “The Superhero Song,” “Make Life Better,” “Famous” and “What If (The Family Song),” among others. His songs focused on kindness, respect and positive character-building messages. In between songs, Campbell interacted with the students through questions and personal stories.

“Think about what you’re going to do to spread kindness,” Principal Susan Fazio said at the conclusion of the assembly. “We want it to be contagious at JLCS.”

Campbell has been performing at JLCS for the past seven years.
