Kids Get CreARTive at The Art Guild

The Island Now

Families are invited to the fourth annual CreARTive at The Art Guild, on Saturday, August 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. The open house at Nassau County’s Elderfields Preserve features free art-related activities such as tie-dying, Djembe drum making, Japanese relief printing, painting, clay hand-building and more. The projects are geared for ages 5 through 12, but all ages are invited to attend. CreARTive will take place inside our studios in the event of rain.

“Our art classes for kids are fun and educational,” said Susan Herbst, The Art Guild’s director of programming. “Our teachers are amazing professionals who come up with creative projects every week all year long. The Art Guild offers fun, reasonably priced art classes for students of all ages – from kindergarten through high school.”

This event is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by The Huntington Arts Council.
