Mineola hosts meeting with attorney Michael Pfeifer on Estate and Medicaid planning

On Thursday, June 18, at 7 p.m., the Kiwanis Club of County Seat in Mineola is sponsoring a free event for all on Estate and Medicaid Planning.

Attorney Michael Pfeifer will speak about wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, health care proxies, and important changes to the Medicaid laws.

The talk will cover the need for the appointment of guardians and trusts for minor children and disabled adults. Starting Oct. 1, New York State is making changes to Medicaid that will adversely impact the ability to obtain home care and other long-term services.

Learn what these changes are and what you should be doing now to protect yourself and your family.

Michael Pfeifer has concentrated his practice in the fields of estate planning and elder law for over 25 years. He is a former chair of the Elder Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association.

He has given numerous continuing legal education lectures on these subjects to attorneys, accountants, and community groups and clubs. Michael also serves as a member of the advisory committee for the Long Island Alzheimer’s and Dementia Center.
