Lakeville Estates Civic Association scholarship opportunities

The Island Now

The Lakeville Estates Civic Association is now accepting applications for its 5th Annual Scholarship Award. Up to 4 winners will receive $1,000 each.

This award is for graduating high school seniors who live in New Hyde Park and whose family is a member of the Lakeville Estates Civic Association. This award is a SERVICE oriented scholarship where applicants describe their involvement and service to the community and their personal accomplishments.

They will be chosen based on involvement in and service to the Nassau County Community and/or the Civic Association. The Lakeville Estates Civic Association is not necessarily interested in the star of the high school track or their academic achievement. Rather, a student who is involved in community service. The key is that this is a SERVICE oriented scholarship.

In order to qualify for the scholarship, a paper (or email) must be submitted describing the High School Senior’s involvement and service to our Community as well as their personal accomplishments. Submitted papers are to be a maximum of 500 words, typed and double spaced. The submission must have the applicant’s name, contact information and the name of two (2) references (no relatives please.)

To request an application, please go to email lakevillestatescivicassoc@gmail.com. Applications must be submitted and postmarked on or before June 15, 2021 and sent to Lakeville Estates Civic Association, P.O. Box 46, New Hyde Park, N.Y. 11040. Email scholarship submissions are also to be submitted on or before June 15, 2021 to lakevillestatescivicassoc@gmail.com.

All submissions will be evaluated by an independent party to ensure a fair choice of the scholarship winners.
