League of Women Voters announce times for Oct. 17 debates

The Women’s Group of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock and the League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset are co-sponsoring Candidates Night at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock, 48 Shelter Rock Road, Manhasset.

Due to the early start, sandwiches, coffee, tea and desert will be served. 

NYAV Crew has agreed to record the event. This will make the debates available to a much larger audience.  

Schedule for the Evening: 

6:15 to 6:30 p.m.: Greetings and refreshments

6:30 to 7 p.m.:  David Adhami (R) and Ellen Birnbaum (D), Candidates for the Nassau County Legislature, District 10 will respond to questions.

7 to 7:30 p.m.:  David Redmond (R) and Wayne Wink (D), Candidates for Town of North Hempstead Clerk will respond to questions.

7:30 to 8 p.m.:  Zefy Christopoulos (R) and Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D), Candidates for Nassau County Legislature, District 11 will respond to questions.

8 to 8:30 p.m.:  Judi Bosworth (D) and Steve Nasta (R), Candidates for Supervisor of the Town of North Hempstead will respond to questions.

8:30 tp 9 p.m.:  Richard DeMartino (R) and Lee Seeman (D), Candidates for the Town of North Hempstead Council, 5th District will respond to questions.

Mallory Nathan (D) and Richard Nicolello (R) had both agreed to participate in the forum.  Unfortunately, Mallory Nathan just had emergency heart surgery and therefore is unable to attend. League of Women Voters rules prohibit an “empty chair” debate, so their segment was cancelled.
