Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum is once again proudly participating in Long Island Cares’ ninth annual Legislative Pet Food Drive Challenge in conjunction with Great Neck House.

Each year, Long Island Cares partners with elected officials to collect donations of items such as bagged or canned pet food, kitty litter, and new animal toys to fill Baxter’s Pet Pantry, a Long Island Cares initiative that supports families facing financial hardships by providing food and other supplies for their pets. The support eases pet care costs, potentially sparing families the heartbreak of deciding to place their four-legged friends up for adoption.

“When families face financial difficulties, every member of the household struggles,” Birnbaum said. “I am proud to support the Long Island Cares’ Legislative Pet Food Drive to ensure families can keep their pets at home.”

Donations can be dropped off at:

Great Neck House
14 Arrandale Ave.
Great Neck, NY 11024

March through the end of May. Closed on Easter. Open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

For more information please contact Legislator Birnbaum’s office at 516-571-6210 or via email at ebirnbaum@nassaucountyny.gov For additional details about Baxter’s Pet Pantry, visit www.licares.org/get-to-know-us/our-programs/pet-pantry/.
