Calling all seventh-grade and up teenage performers! Levels’ Spring 2019 musical, Pippin, wants you.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26 and Thursday, Feb. 28, both days between 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Levels, Great Neck Library, Main Building, 159 Bayview Avenue.

Levels, the cultural center for teenagers located at the Main Library, presents several theatrical productions a year, all traditionally directed, produced and performed by students seventh-grade through college-age.

In the Tony Award-winning musical Pippin, a mysterious troupe of players, acrobats and circus artists tell us the story of a young prince on a death-defying journey to find meaning in his existence. Will he choose a happy but simple life? Or will he risk everything for a singular flash of glory?

Pippin features a well-loved score by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked) that includes “Magic to Do” and “Corner of the Sky,” and sizzling choreography in the style of Bob Fosse (Chicago, Cabaret).

Auditioners should prepare at least 16 bars of a Broadway-style song and be ready to sing a cappella (without music). They should also be ready to read from the script (sides will be provided at the audition) and to do a group dance/movement audition. The show is currently scheduled to be performed on May 16, 17 and 18, 2019.

Levels is also seeking musicians to play in the pit orchestra. Please contact Levels if you’re a teenager seventh-grade and up who plays any of the following instruments: bass, cello, clarinet, drums, flute, guitar, horn, keyboard, oboe, percussion, trombone, trumpet, violin.

Please contact Levels at (516) 466-8055 ext. 216 for more information.
