On Aug. 3, members of Lynx Mortgage Bank LLC and Laffey Real Estate’s Port Washington office gathered together at The Cooking Lab Port Washington, located on Main Street, to showcase their culinary skills.
The Cooking Lab specializes in teaching attendees how to plan, prepare and cook a wide variety of meals from scratch. This week’s dish was classic Italian pasta with a light red sauce, the authentic way.
“The entire atmosphere was fantastic and the staff was phenomenal, its really great to see what goes into preparing such a classic meal…It was so nice to gather with friends and colleagues at a local business,” President of Lynx Mortgage Bank LLC Zahra Jafri said. “So many small businesses were hit so hard over the last year, it was great to get out and be together and most importantly give back to the community.”
The entire event lasts about two hours. Students have the opportunity to share their creations with their families by taking home a portion to be enjoyed later on. The group went on to explain how the Italian cuisine was some of the best they have ever had.
“Port Washington is such an awesome place to live and work,” Allison Platt manger of Port Washington’s Laffey Real Estate office said. “We support local businesses and have fun together. We are Port Strong!”
