The Manhasset Community Fund and Rebuilding Together made safety-related playground repairs recently for the Manhasset/Great Neck EOC head start program. During an inspection, the licensor expressed concern about a broken piece of playground equipment including safety surfacing that had deteriorated with age and no longer met the requirement for a 12 inch depth of wood chips. A written order was issued that the children could not use the playground until the repairs were completed. The Manhasset Community Fund provided the financial support while materials and labor were provided by Rebuilding Together volunteers.
