The Manhasset School District has launched a new Facebook page to keep social media users informed of what’s happening in and around the schools, including important announcements and information.

All residents, community members, faculty members and families are encouraged to like the district’s official Facebook page by searching “Manhasset Public Schools” in the search function on Facebook.

The account is non-commenting, meaning the public will not be able to comment or post on it; rather, its purpose is to provide information regarding the schools and district.

“While the website continues to serve as the primary resource for obtaining information about our schools digitally, many people rely more heavily on social media for news and information,” Superintendent Vincent Butera said. “It’s important that we provide students, parents and others with interest in our schools’ convenient options for staying in the know. This is just the first step in our district’s broader effort to enhance communication with parents and the greater Manhasset community.”

Residents who are not on Facebook can still refer to the district website for news and updates on the district’s website at manhassetschools.org. You can also follow the district on Twitter @ManhassetSupt and @ManhassetUFSD.
