The Mann Charitable Foundation recently hosted its 10th annual golf outing at Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, NY on Sept. 11.

The event was dressed in red, white, and blue decorations and signage in honor of those who lost their lives on that historic day. And, upon arrival at the club, the Foundation provided golfers with a luxurious golf locker as a gift. Jeff Mann, founder of the Mann Charitable Foundation, personally greeted and welcomed all of the golfers as well.

The outing featured some of the biggest names in the New York fashion and real estate scenes.

After the outing the Foundation had a stirring tribute, reading, and flag ceremony by the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department, one of the many local fire departments who arrived on scene on that day in 2001.

The after party immediately following was set up like a south beach club with white furniture and outdoor seating. The outing’s honorees—Joanne Podell, Gabe Hernandez, and Bruce Madnick—were all presented with awards during the festivities. And there was an incredible spread of food with steak and lobster bars, a raw sushi station, pastas, top-shelf alcohol, and an extensive dessert table.

The after party also featured a silent auction, with incredible prizes ranging from Grammy tickets to an invitation to the Golf Masters in Augusta, Georgia. There was plenty of memorabilia auctioned off as well, and a raffle with a $1500 cash prize at the pro shop. And, before the event was over, attendees took part in a chipping and putting contest.

The Mann Charitable Foundation, founded 20 years ago in memory of Irving and Marion Mann, funds research for geriatric diseases, and ultimately seeks to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. This year, the outing raised money for Crohn’s and colitis disease, breast cancer, liver cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease research.
