The Military Service Award ceremony held on June 4 marked the first time the Nassau County Police Department ever honored retired and active members who proudly served our country.

Port Washington resident Ken Kraft was among the honorees. Raised in Manorhaven, Kraft is now serving his second term as a trustee for the village in which he grew up and lives.

He served in the U.S. Army, where his assignments included Fort Hood, Texas and Vietnam. Kraft worked for the Nassau County Police Department for 37 years, serving in several different positions, including supervisor in different departments.

Please congratulate Ken when you see him and thank him for his military service, as well as his continued service to the Port Washington community.
