The Mineola Golden Age Club had a lot to celebrate at its June luncheon at the Chateau Briand.  Its was the 50th anniversary of the club. The club treasurer, Robert Geehrer, retired after 28 year of service. Two new treasures were sworn in, Jane Valla and Carole Machold. Plus it was the end of the year for the club members.

North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth presented the club with a citation for the 50th anniversary. The club President Joanne DiGiorgio and Vice President Marie DeStefano received the award.  Nassau County Legislature Presiding Officer Richard Nicolello and North Hempstead Town Councilman Angelo Ferrara were guest speakers.  Mineola Mayor Scott Strauss spoke and then swore in the new treasurers.

While the attendees had their lunch, a slideshow flashed on each side of the room with club pictures from various activities over the years.

The next meeting is September 13.
