The members of the Mineola Junior Fire Department took their annual trip up to Lake George region to enjoy the sites, fun parks and have a good time.
The members stood at the Depe Dene waterfront lodge. At the resort the juniors had a chance to swim and relax at the resort’s beach which has paddle boats, row boats, and canoes. Some of members even did some fishing with a few catches. Twice during the week members rented a speed boat; the weather didn’t cooperate with some
rainy days but the juniors got everything in activities at Lake George.
At the popular site called the rock everyone had a chance to dive into the lake. One night the juniors played laser tag and in the village they enjoyed an Italian dinner. After dinner everyone had a chance to do some shopping. With the rainy weather members went to the movies, and finished the night at the famous Martha’s Ice cream stand.
This year the juniors were introduced to bicycle riding car on the railroad tracks. Completely something new as members peddled on a railroad bicycle car 3 miles to a rest point then returned the same route through the mountains and over the bridges. After six days it was time to start for home. When members arrived home everyone was all a little tired, but came back with fond memories of the 2018 Lake George Trip.
