Munsey Park author Daniella Dell’Aquila honored

Munsey Park Elementary School sixth-grader Daniella Dell’Aquila was named a winner of the grade-level competition in the Nassau Reading Council’s Young Authors Contest.

Daniella won for her piece“To Ski, or Not to Ski,” a humorous recounting of her family’s adventures on the ski slopes. According to her English Language Arts teacher, Melinda Smith, Daniella often uses descriptive language to paint a picture in her writing.

The Nassau Reading Council awarded Daniella a certificate of recognition and a journal for her winning entry. She had the opportunity to read her piece at the Nassau Reading Council awards ceremony, held at Molloy College on June 4.
