Popular landscape photographer, Harry Schuessler, will speak on Wednesday, March 13 at the Port Washington Library at 7:30 p.m. in a presentation sponsored by the Photography Club of Long Island. An avid outdoorsman, Schuessler loves hiking to remote areas for the sense of adventure and the opportunity to shoot breathtaking scenery.

In the course of his talk he will show dramatic images shot at many of the major national parks in the West and the Appalachian Trail in Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

A highlight of his talk will be sharing photographs shot during his 15-day trip to national parks in Yosemite, Bryce Canyon and the Rocky Mountains in May 2017.

Besides sharing stories about the trip, Schuessler will also give advice to photographers including what to pack and how to pack it, lessons learned from hiking over 160 miles while carrying all his camera gear himself.

Schuessler’s images have been recognized by the Photographic Federation of Long Island receiving seven Leonard Victor awards. His work has also been seen in shows sponsored by the Huntington Arts Council and the Art League of Long Island.
