The Junior Firefighters of the Great Neck Alert Fire Company recently held their annual dinner and meeting and also held officer elections for the new year.
The newly elected officers for 2018 are Financial Secretary Ethan Moezinia, Recording Secretary Niki Talledo, 2nd Lieutenant Maya Garfinkel, 1st Lieutenant Julia Motchkavitz and Captain Seth Newman. Alert Chief Steve Schwartz swore in the new officers.
During the dinner, Ex-Captain David Oginiski was also honored for his hard work, dedication and extraordinary service to the Alert Junior Firefighters program. Oginski joined the Alert Juniors in 2014 and served as 1st Lieutenant from 2015-2016 and then as Captain from 2016-2017. He is a sophomore at Great Neck South High School.
