New Hyde Park Memorial High School’s online student newspaper, The Chariot, earned gold medal recognition from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
Issues published during the 2020-2021 school year were submitted for critique last June. A panel of experts evaluated the site, focusing on the categories of Essentials, Verbal and Visual. The Chariot earned a total score of 852 out of 1,000. Additionally, the newspaper was awarded All-Columbian Honors for outstanding achievement in the Visual category.
