The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour announced the appointment of Karen Murphy as the teacher/director of its preschool, Noah’s Ark. Murphy comes with an impressive resume in education and has been a strong child advocate prior to leaving her career to raise her four girls, two of whom attended Noah’s Ark.
Murphy is familiar with the Noah’s Ark curriculum and plans to follow it with little change. The rest of the staff remains in place: Kathleen Siemann, assistant teacher, Patricia Strauss and Lois Ritterbusch, teacher aides. Beth Tompkins will serve in an advisory capacity, as needed, during the transition.
Noah’s Ark preschool has been serving Mineola and the surrounding communities for the past twenty-five years. There are a few openings available in the three day nursery program for three-year olds.
