NHP Wildcats U12 Lady Lynx team clawed their way to an incredible win against the Sachem Black 06 team this weekend.

Scores were tied at 1-1 at the 90 minute mark with a precisely placed assist by Fiona O’Reilly to Julia Lopez who scored early in the second half of the game.

Both teams worked tirelessly in overtime to break the tie but it was Natalie Shon’s cross to Julia Lopez’s beautiful finishing shot that delivered the outstanding winning goal with only 20 seconds left.

A special thanks to Tyler Okui who stepped in as goalkeeper for the first time and did an amazing job keeping the Lady Lynx in the game.

The Lady Lynx not only clinched the Eastern New York’s Arch Cup Championship title but they were also awarded the Sportsmanship award from the league for games played in the season.

Congratulations to coach Pat Lopez and the remarkable girls team for a well-deserved win. The NHP Lady Lynx currently plays in Division 1 in the LIJSL league.
