NICE names Khzouz as new CEO

The Island Now

Jack Khzouz, who served as Chief Administrative Officer of Nassau Inter-County Express, or NICE bus, has been named its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing Michael Setzer, who ran NICE from its inception in 2012.

During his six years at NICE, Khzouz has played a leadership role in operations, system and technology improvements and strategic planning.

“I’m excited to take the reins of an organization that has the potential to evolve into a truly 21st Century suite of transit services,” said Khzouz. “Sustaining and improving the services we already offer, while planning and executing effective and efficient new services, is key. The future of transit will be defined by being responsive, nimble and flexible to rider demands, while making Nassau County’s dollars go further as we provide better services for transit riders.”

Khzouz joined NICE in early 2012 as director of marketing and communications and was promoted to Chief Administrative Officer in 2013. In this role, he has overseen Human Resources, Customer Service, Information Technology, Innovation Strategy, Planning and Scheduling, Marketing and Communications, Customer Service and Safety.

Prior to joining NICE, Khzouz was president and CMO of XMI Marketing & Branding Consultants in New York City for 12 years, and prior to that was with Nordstrom for 17 years.
