North Hempstead launches Small Businesses Spotlight as part of “Lift Up Local” campaign

The Town of North Hempstead Board has announced the Town’s new Small Business Spotlight initiative, which is designed to profile our local businesses and promote the goods and services they provide on the Town’s website, on social media and through other means, including North Hempstead TV.

“It is imperative that we do all that we can to cultivate a thriving and resilient local economy, which will ultimately enhance the unique sense of community we hold so dear here in the Town of North Hempstead,” said Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “The Small Business Spotlight program is another way for the Town to support our local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. By shining a ‘spotlight’ on our businesses, we hope to remind customers of their favorite shop, service provider or restaurant and to bring out new customers who may be hearing about a business for the first time.”

As part of the program, highlighted businesses will have their photo and business listing included as part of a directory on the town’s website. The program is open to all businesses in the Town of North Hempstead. Businesses looking to participate in the Town’s Small Business Spotlight initiative can apply by visiting: www.northhempsteadny.gov/spotlight.

The Small Business Spotlight initiative was designed in conjunction with Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth’s Chamber of Commerce Roundtable and is part of the Town’s “Lift Up Local” campaign. Since the pandemic began, the town has worked to help businesses across North Hempstead. Initiatives focused on helping to revive downtowns and small businesses include: establishing dining in local parks, expanding outdoor dining options, creating a “parklet” sidewalk dining extension program, as well as facilitating street closures to help attract customers.
