North Shore Vikings beat Shoreham-Wading River Wildcats to become Long Island champions

In an exciting playoff game, the North Shore Vikings held their 7-0 lead in a historic Long Island Class IV championship game to defeat the Shoreham-River Wildcats to become the Long Island Champions!

On a chilly night at Stony Brook’s LaValle Stadium, the North Shore fans came out in force to cheer on their beloved Vikings! An early touchdown in the first quarter by Daniel Quigley along with an incredible defensive game allowed the Vikings to remain victorious.

Congratulations go out to the Vikings Football Team, Coaches, Cheerleaders, Pulse, HS Pep Band, Don Lang, Marge Anderson, the entire athletics department, and everyone who came out in the community to cheer on the North Shore Vikings! The Varsity team includes Nicholas Livoti, Peter Liotta, Dylan Kunkel, Ryan Freund, Garret Gates, Richard Cook, Michael Fleming, Peter Laino, William Feldmann, David Berlin, Ryan Camardella, Dylan Roth, Ryan Mannix, Mark Russo, Nicholas La Rosa, Edward Mullen, Eric Mullen, Justin Rosen, Anthony Santoro, Michael Granelli, Nicholas Caprarella, Joseph Zuccarello, Luke Potapov, Andrew Noak, Jack Molesky, Michael McMahon, Patrick Godfrey, Danny Sotiryadis, Leo Ponce, Matthew Laudisio, Athanasios Alafogiannis, Reece Ramos. Andrew Fabiilli, Matthew Topol, Maxim Mokhoff, Issac Bratter and Kelly Larkin. In addition, congratulations to Head Coach, Daniel Agovino, and Assistant Coaches, Craig DeNicola, Bill Madigan, PJ Como, and Scott Lineman.

Once again, the determination and heart of this team and their ability to overcome adversity and play to win led to this historical triumph. Just a week before, the Vikings defeated Cold Spring Harbor to become the Nassau County Champions.

Coach Agovino stated, “I am very proud! These kids played like champions. It was a team effort. The support of the community gave us the confidence we needed to win the championship!

“This is a great win for our players, our coaches, our school, and our community,” said Don Lang  North Shore’s Director of Athletics. “Thanks to all of the alumni, former players, and parents for all of the support throughout the season and championship run! It was a magical night!”

Congratulations to the Long Island Championship Vikings on an amazing season! We are all proud of you!
