Northwell awards recognize ‘Truly’ dedicated doctors

Northwell Health recently honored five physicians with the health system’s first ever Truly Awards, which recognize the impact doctors have made on their patients, families, communities and fellow team members.

All 4,000 members of Northwell Health Physician Partners were eligible to receive nominations from their colleagues. Northwell Health Physician Partners is comprised of doctors and staff who work for the healthcare system in hospitals and facilities across New York City, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties.

The Truly Award-winning doctors are listed below with the accompanying description of each category. Criteria for the awards was created by the physicians themselves.

Mansoor Beg, a general surgeon at North Shore University Hospital, received the Truly Award for Caring Touch for “embodying compassion and having an exceptional caring touch and bedside manner.”

Kristina Deligiannidis, a psychiatrist at Zucker Hillside Hospital, received the Truly Award for Rising Star for “shining brightly amongst peers and advancing clinical, educational, research and administrative health care by looking at things differently.”

Peter Finamore, a physician specializing in urogynecology at Southside Hospital, received The Truly Award for Leadership for “having the extra spark, desire and ability to create a vision that pushes boundaries, inspires colleagues and teams to seize opportunities to make healthcare better.”

Yves Duroseau, an emergency medicine physician at Lenox Hill Hospital, received The Truly Award for Mentorship for “selflessly giving his time and energy to help colleagues and others recognize their potential and achieve greatness.”

Julissa Jurado, a cardiothoracic surgeon at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills, received The Truly Award for Road Traveled for “harnessing inner strength to achieve extraordinary accomplishments and provide exceptional care despite extreme personal hardships.”

“The Truly Awards allow us to recognize the achievements of Northwell physicians who go above and beyond their roles in healthcare every day,” said Ira Nash, senior vice president and executive director of Northwell Health Physician Partners. “These doctors are honored by their colleagues because of the care and leadership they provide. It’s also important for the healthcare system to take the feedback we get from our patients and apply that to the work we do. Our annual Patients’ Choice Awards goes to physicians who receive the highest rankings from their patients based on the consistent quality of care and patient centered experience they provide. We’re proud of all of our winners.”
