More than $2.4 million was raised at Northwell Health’s annual Constellation Gala, held virtually on Nov. 10. The event celebrates philanthropic support as the driving force of innovations throughout Northwell Health — particularly at its 90 Manhattan care locations — that are transforming health care throughout the country.

Hosted by award-winning comedian, writer, producer, actor and television host Seth Meyers, this year’s Constellation Gala was held in honor of Northwell’s healthcare heroes who have treated more than 95,000 COVID-19 patients — more than any healthcare entity in the U.S.

The program featured special performances from award-winning actress, singer and songwriter Cynthia Erivo, Travis Wall and headliner Harry Connick Jr. Attendees included New York City leaders from various industries and philanthropists and volunteer leaders who support Northwell’s Manhattan care sites.

“The true character of Northwell was on full display during the height of the crisis back in March, April, May,” said Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health. “But any success we’ve had, however, is a tribute to the extraordinary compassion, dedication and courage of the staff, nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, environmental services staff, social workers, security guards and everybody in between working in unity to be sure we provided the best care possible. Any success was due to working and operating as a system, and to the long-term commitment we’ve made to build a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, improvement, innovation and creativity.”

“I’ve seen a lot in life but never the level of teamwork that was displayed at Northwell over the last nine months. We are all better because of it — thank you,” said Paul Guenther, chair of Northwell’s Western Region Executive Council, directly addressing the healthcare heroes in attendance. “We are fortunate to have loyal friends on our side who believe in you and all the frontline caregivers in our health system. They help make our care, research and innovation possible.”
