Northwell Health, in partnership with the New York City Department of Veteran’s Services as VetConnectNYC, will manage a comprehensive online resource site that offers New York City veterans, service members and their families a network of more than 80 public, private and non-profit service providers. The network helps with housing, legal assistance, benefits counseling, education, health care and behavioral health, employment and job training.

Northwell will operate VetConnectNYC as a single coordinated network spanning the entire veterans’ services sector in order to simplify access to resources for military veterans and their families. Veterans will be connected with care coordination teams staffed by trained Northwell social workers and specialists, who will, in turn, navigate referrals to providers in the network so that veterans can get the resources for which they are eligible.

“Northwell Health is proud to lead the VetConnectNYC network,” said Juan Serrano, director of Northwell’s Military and Veterans Liaison Services. “We offer a  wide array of services, decode eligibility requirements and reduce the time spent searching for services and information – all while increasing the accuracy of referrals in services and care.”

This initiative is supported by Northwell Health’s Military and Veterans Liaison Services in partnership with Syracuse University’s Institute for Military and Veterans Families, an affiliate of the AmericaServes initiative, along with the NYC Department of Veterans Services and UniteUs, a veteran-owned technical business.

Veterans, service members and their families can access VetConnectNYC online, by phone by visiting: www.VetConnectNYC.org or calling: 1-833-VETS-NYC.
