Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation hosted a Pfizer Booster-Shot event on Thursday, Oct. 27, at India Home – A Center for Senior Care in Jamaica, New York.

At this event, registered nurses from Parker At Your Door, Parker’s Medical House Call Unit, provided boosters for older adults, who would have otherwise found it difficult to travel on their own to receive the COVID-19 booster shot.

Parker At Your Door partnered with India Home in not only offering the booster shot, but also in educating the community about the event, and in ensuring that those who were eligible could easily register for an appointment for the booster.

Team members from Parker’s Public Affairs Department informed participants about the full spectrum of services available through the Institute. And after receiving the booster, participants enjoyed refreshments.

“It is a top priority at Parker to help the region, including older adults, stay protected against COVID-19. It is important to us to assist the community in staying healthy, and events such as the one at India Home accomplish this very goal,” said Michael N. Rosenblut, Parker Jewish Institute’s president and Chief Executive Officer.

Parker Jewish Institute cultivates close ties with many organizations in the community, including through Parker’s thriving Indian Cultural Unit. The unit is the first of its kind in the region, serving South Asian and Indo-Caribbean older adults in the New York metropolitan area.
